Here is just a sample of one of our night en SEVILLA. Specifically, this was Sangria night. Ohhhh Sangria night. There’s this travel group called ‘Discover Sevilla’ and they invited our entire program (API) to a free sangria party in a gym jajaja. We all get there and there is a GIANT tub of sangria…they also begin to practically force it down our throats. We went through 3...

AVATAR
I was little skeptical before I saw it, but post movie I was in awe. SEE THIS MOVIE. The author also directed Titanic, and had been writing the story since 1994. It cost $200+ million to produce. But AHHH it’s so good. I would strongly suggest seeing it!

Little Pink Heart-->Wildfire
Sunday night I went ‘facebook official’ with a certain somebody… :) Whenever you change your relationship status a little pink heart appears in people’s news feed and alerts them of a relationship status change.
I feel super loved, 24 people ‘liked’ the status change and a whole bunch of people made comments!
Here’s Jared with my new competition, Katie...
B + A
Actually, it’s B+, A. I’ve got the two essays that I’ve written back from my TA for my Native American History class. And yes, the grades were 1) B+ and 2) A!!

Oh, Chemistry.
Three days a week I sit in my chemistry lecture, and learn…not much. The course is called, Chemistry 101 and the short description goes: ‘Fundamental chemical laws via such topics as nuclear energy, chemistry and the environment, present and future energy processes and some industrial processes.’ What we’re now covering involves the professor’s specialty as a chemical...
Nyingje, La!
Pretty much my favorite Tibetan word ever, nyingje apparently can mean compassion along with a few other things. Personally, whenever I see something that’s “cute” I use this word as a means of endearment. FYI ‘La’ is a term of respect placed after a name. I came across this description of nyingje by H.H. the Dala Lama:
“…our capacity for empathy is the...
Executions in Tibet
On October 20th, in Lhasa, China executed three Tibetans, Lobsang Gyaltsen, Loyak, and Penkyi. In addition a fourth unidentified Tibetan was reportedly executed on the same day. This news is really troubling, as the Tibetans were executed for political reasons, concerning the March 10th protests of 2008. I, along with 166 organizations of the International Tibet Support network condemn the...
Wild Thing, you make my heart sing.
Last night I went to the 7:05 showing of Where the Wild Things Are, and although it was a Tuesday night, the theater was full. I’m happy to say that I didn’t cry, nor even tear up. Watching the preview for the film did however make me tear up. I’m blaming this on the song featured, ‘Wake Up’ by The Arcade Fire.
The movie was sweet. At time it was happy, and at...
Trip or Treat
To some the question is…do I Trip or Treat? Personally, I don’t think I’ll be indulging in the later, but instead I’ll be dancing the night away.
Hampshire College’s annual Halloween party, aka Trip or Treat, is basically the place where a vast majority of the 5 college students wish they were….as of October 30th that is. The catch is…each Hampshire...
My LOL for today
I have officially been warned by the Library Building Monitors to not use the fence outside of the library.
An evening with Meghan McCain
Wednesday night I went to an event titled, “An Evening with Meghan McCain”. Who was the guest speaker you may ask? She was —————————————->
The night began with a video clip of Meghan McCain on the Stephen Colbert report. This was somewhat of a strange way to introduce her…as we saw the...
Just your average rant
1. So apparently I could use more physical exercise in my life. Just now, for about 20 minutes the power went out across the entire UMass campus. This happened while I was in the dining common, but I guess Umass knew what they were doing when they built it - gas grills and ovens are nifty in that they don’t need electricity! Anyways, my realization that I should start exercising came when I...

Major, minor, what?
I’m officially part of UMass’ largest major, that being the Undeclared mass. I know what I don’t want to do, and there are many things that appeal to me…but still I’m unsure of what I want to do with my life!
I’m almost positive that I’ll minor in Spanish. It’s my goal to become fluent in the language within the next few years. I definitely want to...
The College Life
Currently I’m sitting at a desk, inside a nicely furnished office. and I’m getting paid to do…basically nothing. I’m the receptionist at the Student Legal Services Office at UMass Amherst and today, after being here for 3 hours, I’ve only answered the phone twice. It’s actually the perfect opportunity to quietly do my lecture readings, and study for any tests I...
I'm Destined To Be Jewish
Twice within the past week I’ve been stopped by two different Rabbis and they’ve asked me if I’m Jewish. I think it’s my hair…it’s puffy and dark and kind of curly. To the first Rabbi I simply said no, I’m not and that was the end of the story.
The second Rabbi responded, “Well Happy New Year.” I aptly responded,
“Happy Rosh...
Maybe I won't be an attorney
According to the consultant group Challenger, Gray & Christmas, Inc the top 3 careers to aviod are: 1. Law 2.Marketing/Advertising and 3. Human Resources.
These three surprised me, I mean why do these careers have such a bad future? I guess this means Law is out of the question. Plus Marisa won’t be able to get into Marketing, following the footsteps of a fictional character, Brian...
